What is Fidya?

Fidya is a donation that must be paid to feed the poor for unintentionally missing a fast in Ramadan, and not being able to make it up on time (sickness, inability to fast, pregnancy etc).

What is Kaffarah?

Kaffarah is a donation that must be paid to feed the poor for an intentionally broken fast. This resembles a broken promise to Allah and must be atoned for by feeding 60 people.

Kaffarah can only be paid if you cannot fast continuously for 60 days which is the first option to atone for an intentionally broken fast.

The problem is that the population of Pakistan is rapidly growing which makes it challenging for the government to provide reasonable healthcare services.

The sad reality doesn’t end there.

As a result of such extreme poverty, fathers leave their families and move to the city for work, sending all they have back home to feed their families.

For some, children are left to fend for themselves in order to find food and shelter out of necessity.

The sad reality doesn’t end there.

As a result of such extreme poverty, fathers leave their families and move to the city for work, sending all they have back home to feed their families.

For some, children are left to fend for themselves in order to find food and shelter out of necessity.

Meet Noor. Her story paints the true picture of the reality so many people are living in. We first met Noor when she stepped foot into one of our orphanages. As we cared for her and got to know her, she opened up and shared her story.

She came to us after running away from abuse in her home. She saw her father kill her mother, and ran. We had the privilege of not only providing her with a place to stay, but the professional help she needed through counselors trained in trauma.

And we didn’t stop there. Once she received the help she needed, we were able to get all of her other siblings and keep them all together in the same orphanage.

Since 2012, we’ve helped people just like Noor - over 700,000 of them feel hope again.

Our mission is to equip impoverished communities with the tools they need to escape poverty and become self-sustainable.

We do this by creating sustainable rhythms of aid, education and development so that lives are changed for the good and they’re able to give back to their families and communities.

We do this by:

First easing their tension, through providing meals, shelter, medical aid.
Then we teach them the trades they need to improve their life and provide Oxford level education they need at no extra cost.

In this way, we’re able to hold their hand through the entire process and not let go until they’re ready to succeed in life and feel their worth as human beings again.

We believe that to change communities and fight poverty, sex trafficking and hunger, you have to start with one person which is why we’ve created the Noor Project.

THE MATW 100% DONATION POLICY

In recent years, our Ummah has experienced suffering on an unprecedented scale, especially our brothers and sisters in the Middle East - Gaza and Lebanon.

With Ramadan around the corner, we’re gearing up to ensure we reach as many people as possible so that no one gets left behind.

Will you join us?

Every donation goes directly to relief efforts, and all donations are 100% Zakat applicable.

The Prophet PBUH said:

“Sadaqah extinguishes sin

as water extinguishes fire.”

One of our mantras around here is Surgeries, Not Bandaids, and that is literally what we’re doing through our health clinics.

We don’t give people money.

Our goal is to connect your generosity directly to creating opportunities for people to create a path through education and aid towards sustainable work and a future.

We do this by giving them dignity and value so they can create a strong mindset. Then we give them the opportunity to work and guide them through the entire process of their life so they can impact their communities.

In this way we’re creating a domino effect of change.

We take an entrepreneurial mindset to everything we do, similar to organizations like Charity Water, so that we can strategically impact the most amount of people we can and stretch your donation to its fullest impact.

We put our deep passion and vast experience building systems that last behind every project we create so that thriving communities last well beyond our lifetimes.

We are currently running carefully crafted programs aimed at strategically raising marginalized families from poverty by providing short term support and equipping them to be self-sufficient.

Within all these program’s our focus and mission remains the same:

  • To identify the root causes of poverty
  • Evaluate the economic and social conditions of the families that approach us for help
  • Enlist families into the Noor Programs for 6-12 months
  • Facilitate the provision of the care of each family, from housing to food, health care and child education
  • Teach the adult family members the skills they need to find well paying jobs in the market

With this process we’re able to improve the lives of entire families and give them hope, all within the context of our Noor Family.

It’s that family that we’re asking you to be a part of as well. That’s where you come in.
